The iPhone 4 is a Fragile Beast: Report

Gorilla Glass or no, the iPhone 4's screen appears to be more fragile than its predecessors. According to SquareTrade, a third party warranty company (including accidental coverage), iPhone 4 glass breakage is up 82 percent over the iPhone 3GS. Additionally, accidental damage in total is up 68 percent over the prior model. Wal-Mart Stores to Begin Selling iPads on Oct. 15

Wal-Mart has reportedly confirmed what was believed for some time, that the iPad is coming to its retail stores on Friday, Oct. 15. Air Force Grants $750K to Wombat For Anti-Phishing Game

Recently there was an interesting discussion thread about page titles on one of my favorite SEO websites, webmasterworld.com. The thread has a few opinions on the efficacy of keywords in page titles.

The titles of your pages on your blog or website are the most important component when it comes to click-through-rate from search results and they are the second most important with regard to keyword ranking [explanation below].

Here is a quick list of page components and sources that Google and other search engines consider for keyword ranking of your site in descending order of importance:

Keywords in links that point to your page. [You often have no control of these]
Your page title
Keywords separated by dashes in your URL
The page heading at the top of your page in <H1> tags.
Text close to the top of the page
Text in other headings and bold sections on your site
All other text including text in image ALT and TITLE attributes on your page.
Google may also consider all other text on pages that link to yours in the order of this list. [If you're a programmer, you'll notice the last statement is recursive]

Remember that this list ignores pagerank, or how many inbound links you have and what the quality of those links are. If your site were ranked purely on keywords, this is how it would be done. Notice my omission of meta keywords or meta description. Most current data shows that those tags are completely ignored. No 4G iPhone in 2011: report

While a Verizon iPhone is widely anticipated for early 2011, the question remains: will it support 4G? On Verizon this would mean LTE, and Verizon is set to roll that out to 38 metropolitan areas and 62 airports by the end of 2010. The answer to that question, reportedly, is "no such luck." SpaceShipTwo Glides to Earth for the First Time

Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo, AKA the VSS Enterprise, reached a major milestone on Sunday when it achieved free flight, achieving itsfirst piloted gliding flight.
